Rear Admiral Tom J. Anderson from the U.S. Navy visited RMC

Rear Admiral Tom J. Anderson, the Director of the U.S. Navy’s shipbuilding program, along with his entourage, visited the Rauma shipyard on Wednesday, May 22, as guests of the shipbuilding company Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC). In addition to representatives from the U.S. Navy, the visit included representatives from the Finnish Defense Forces.

RMC is building four multi-purpose corvettes for the Finnish Navy, with the keel block of the first corvette laid and hull assembly begun in April 2024.

During their visit, the U.S. Navy representatives familiarized themselves with the operations of the shipyard, discussed the Squadron 2020 project with the company’s management, explored collaboration opportunities, and observed the production of the multi-purpose corvettes.
