We come from the land of the frozen sea.

Comprehensive shipyard
capability

As Finland’s leading fully Finnish-owned shipyard, Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) specializes in delivering ice-capable naval vessels, icebreakers, and modern car-passenger ferries. Our robust capacity and sustained investment empower us to meet the most demanding requirements.

Our complete in-house process covers everything from steel cutting and block building to final systems integration, carried out across two indoor construction halls, two docking berths, and a heavy-duty launch ramp. This integrated model ensures quality control, minimizes logistics complexity, and enables year-round productivity, regardless of Nordic weather.

RMC is supported by an established ecosystem of Finnish maritime suppliers and technology partners, delivering complete vessels that meet the most demanding operational and environmental requirements.

Multiple vessel types, all suitable for whatever the future demands.

Multi-purpose corvettes
RMC is building four Pohjanmaa-class corvettes for the Finnish Navy under the Squadron 2020 program.

The Multi-purpose corvettes will be among the most capable vessels in the Baltic region. They are designed for year-round operation and can conduct anti-surface, anti-submarine, and anti-aircraft defense.

Spirit of Tasmania IV&V
Spirit of Tasmania vessels Finland’s largest ever bilateral export deal with Australia.

Rauma Marine Construction delivered two LNG-powered RoPax ferries in 2024–2025 for TT-Line’s demanding Bass Strait route between Geelong and Devonport. Built for open-sea conditions, they are the world’s southernmost LNG-powered passenger ferries.

Aurora Botnia
Aurora Botnia was delivered to Wasaline in 2021 for the Vaasa–Umeå route.

Aurora Botnia is the world’s cleanest RoPax ferry. This award-winning battery-hybrid vessel runs on LNG and shore power.. It halves emissions compared to its predecessor and sets a new global benchmark for sustainable ferry operations.

Fully Electric vessels
RMC is building toward an industrial-scale future of electric ship production.

Years of research and hands-on experience with hybrid-electric technology support this. RMC is positioned to become Europe’s leading shipyard for the series production of fully electric vessels.
