The Financial Statements of Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) for the year 2025 show that the company has managed to overcome the challenges of the previous years and the shipyard-driven industrial management approach is yielding results.

The turnover of the RMC Group in 2025 was EUR 252,969,592.20. At EUR 2,178,120.10, the Company’s profit continued to increase, having been EUR 661,528.52 in 2024. The overall result was adversely affected by financing costs consisting of interest expenses of subordinated loans.

The financial year 2025 was extremely significant in many ways; at the end of June, the Company concluded the largest ever single export contract between Finland and Australia with the delivery of the second of the two car and passenger ferries, Spirit of Tasmania V, ordered by the client TT-Line. A commercial breakthrough was made just before the turn of the year when the United States Coast Guard confirmed the order of two icebreakers. The significance of this event is further highlighted by its uniqueness; no vessels had ever been ordered from outside the US borders before. With the delivery of two vessels to the client in 2028, RMC will take on the role of a frontrunner in the icebreaker procurement project.

The Company continued to implement the changes defined in the strategy in projects standing at various stages of completion; the share of in-house oversight and control was increased purposefully and cooperation with the network was developed on different levels. The development of competence was continued and recruitments were particularly focused on strategically identified sectors. The Company continued to invest efforts in future markets alongside the development of new concepts.

The corvette project underway in good cooperation with the Finnish Defence Forces moved determinedly forward in each area of production. The first of these vessels of Pohjanmaa Class was launched in May only moments after the keel-laying ceremony of the second vessel. The initial production stage of the third vessel started in August with part fabrication. The benefits of series production have been successfully utilised with the production stage proceeding at a more efficient pace for each sister vessel than the previous one.

The market has shown signs of strong recovery and global events have further increased the market interest in arctic naval shipbuilding capabilities. The NATO membership coupled with the enhanced competence of the Company have further improved the potential for productive operations. The corvette project concretely entering the commissioning stage adds the interest of many of the partner countries in our range of offerings to defence forces.

During the financial year, the Company also continued in cooperation with its partners R&D efforts to promote the electric ship concept in identified market areas.
